TBLMA Aims and objectives

The objectives of the TBLMA are to liaise and work with the farming community in preventing land degeneration and to undertake restoration of land that has suffered from degradation. The aims are to:

(a) restore creek lines which are tributaries to the Avon and Swan River systems to prevent nutrients and sediment from depositing downstream,

(b) revegetate degraded sites with plant species indigenous to the area which can lead to greater biodiversity of flora and fauna,

(c) understand and treat acid sulphate soils and salted seeps,

(d) promote the use of perennial plant species to assist in the control of rising ground water.

Expected benefits will be improved farming practices and a more highly valued landscape for the benefit of future generations.
